Spiritual Sunday: Confusion versus Peace

Updated: Oct 23, 2020

The day where I pretend to be a minister. *****

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace - 1 Corinthians 14:33 KJV

The world is turning upside down. Children are being caged and tortured and accused of breaking laws even though they're only five years old, women in custody are being offered up to men to rape, men are calling themselves women, women are calling themselves men, girls and boys are being bought and sold in sexual slavery, while the Metoo movement is happening the voices of women are being shut down, their sports taken away, their meetings cancelled or shouted down or overtaken, their scholarships and awards snatched away, and teenage girls are forced to change in front of male bodies and shamed for objecting because she is not seen as someone who should have autonomy over her own body. Irreversible and lifelong medical experiments are being done on children too young to make decisions, creating fortunes for those in the pharmaceutical and medical fields, while those who object to all of this are called hateful at the same time that those who support these changes spew nasty rhetoric towards women and change the language so that conversation is impossible. If you had asked me ten years ago if this would happen in 2020 I would have been aghast at the thought. I saw the Metoo movement, when it happened, as a positive thing and that finally, women would be taken seriously and have a voice. Instead there's been a huge backlash against women claiming their God-given rights, and a new attack has hit in a fury by those who claim victim hood but wields the mighty sword of public opinion and political backing while claiming that they alone love and want peace. The change in language has been the most powerful and confusing. It's like saying that apples are oranges and when you go into a restaurant and you order orange juice they bring you apple juice, insisting that is what you ordered. No matter how much you point out that you want orange juice, the reply is "I brought you orange juice." "But this is apple juice," you inform them. And they say, "The apples have told us that they are oranges. So they are oranges. I brought you orange juice." So then you tell them that the orange juice you want is the color orange and is an actual orange and not an apple, and they reply that you are being hateful for saying so and that you're a bigot. And then you get kicked out of the restaurant for not recognizing that their apple juice is orange juice. Or how about this example. You tell your friend that you would really like a dog for Christmas. On Christmas morning you are greeted by a bear with a pink ribbon around it's neck. "That's a bear!" you yell as you watch it tear apart your house. "I said I wanted a dog." "I brought you a dog," your friend says. "Isn't it a nice doggy?" "It's not a dog, it's a bear!" You watch as the Christmas tree is knocked down and the bear is wearing the star from the top of the tree. "No, it's a dog," your friend insists. "You said you wanted a dog. And I brought you a dog." "You brought me a bear. Can't you tell the difference between a dog and a bear?" "Of course I can. And this is a dog. I must say, you are not very gracious about the present I brought you. Especially when I brought you what you asked for. You're such a good dog, aren't you Muffy?" But by now the house is trashed, the turkey is eaten, and Muffy the bear has peed on the Christmas tree marking his spot. And now he won't leave your house. So you have to move. Most confusing of all are the women who are taking the rights that their grandmothers fought for and saying "here" and throwing them away, not just their own but every other woman's while claiming that they are doing so for all women and they are breaking the patriarchy doing it. Meanwhile patriarchy is wearing a dress and gleefully spinning the plates of misogyny.

The enemy uses confusion as a tactic to set us off balance, to make concessions, to shut us up, and to allow him to forge ahead, destroying everything in his path. I take comfort in knowing that God knows the truth. That even though I lift up my voice and am hated, ignored, or vilified, for putting Eve beside Adam, and recognizing her for who she is, and simplifying the basic truths, no matter if you are a creationist or an evolutionist or both, that God knows and one day will rectify the situation. I take a risk here by posting this. A risk that I will be hated and cancelled. Women who have raised their voices have even received death and rape threats. I have experienced censorship and as of writing this have been banned from FB for a few days - yet again. I take comfort in knowing that men and women greater than I, have been censored for speaking truth.
